This Mercedes C220d at 398,000kms s the highest mileage vehicle I've worked on to date, even though it is only a 2006 model. The detail took over 12 hours and comprised multiple washes, tar removal, full bodywork iron decontamination, multiple machine polishing passes, rust spot treatment, paint touch up, and protection with an Si02 Quartz ceramic coating. Internally the leather seats were treated, their fabric cushions water extracted 3 times, and all trims both wiped clean, steam cleaned, then cleaned again before being dressed. Carpets were steam cleaned, mats water extracted, and it's probably safe to say that every element of the vehicle was gone over at least twice!
I set off at 08.00am in the morning in 4C temperatures, to work on this Audi, and returned home around 20.00 that evening, thankfully having enjoyed 20C temps throughout the day. This Audi A6 Allroad is used daily as family transport, so the interior took as much effort to complete as the exterior. The work done was the "Platinum" full interior/exterior package This film was taken at around 18.00 at night. without the benefit of bright sunlight to accentuate the gloss finish, but as you can see, even in the evening light the level of gloss and reflectivity is high, and the owner was extremely happy with the return of her "as new" vehicle!.
This beautiful BMW 4356d is only around 16 months old, but the owner wanted it polished and given a good protective coating. We agreed on a new Si02 Quartz ceramic infused coating which gives great protection, high gloss levels, and excellent water sheeting. The results exceeded the owners expectations, and I was so impressed I immediately went home and did my own car in the same coating.
The films on this page are here to showcase the broad range of conditions and vehicles that AutoMOTO Detail works with, and the quality of presentation and end results regularly achieved. From camper vans to sports cars, SUVs to people carriers, treasured vehicles, daily drivers, or those being prepared for sale, every single one of them had our best efforts and looked much improved afterwards. I've enjoyed working on them, met some lovely people, and the response and testimonials of customers afterwards has been very rewarding.
In just under 8 minutes, you'll get to see the results of around 320 hours of work. The most memorable vehicles in 2020 would have to include a beautiful BMW 330i which took an extremely full day to detail; a Renault Megane that had gone mouldy that required me to wear a hazmat suit and breathing mask, and took 7 1/2 hours and two visits to clean; the insanely good results that ceramic coating a Range Rover Sport and Evoque gave; a beautiful Triumph GT6; a Hyundai Coupe that required two visits as the weather affected the coating, and finally a Volvo S60 with the most satisfied customer of the year.
In around 3 minutes 20 this film gives a snapshot of almost 240 hours of work and some of the cars worked on. Each vehicle has a story and is memorable for its own reasons. The Peugeot Partner and Mazda Tribute, which both proved massive challenges due to their initial interior and exterior conditions. The black C3 Picasso that had been scratched down its entire nearside, which we managed to remove pretty much every mark to the owners great joy. A VW Touareg which took a huge 10 hours to complete. A Citroen Pluriel with stained seats which were returned to vastly improved condition, and finally my favourite of the year, the absolutely stunning Aston Martin Vantage, a car which was not only a pleasure to work on, but which looks stunning from whichever angle you look at it.
Like a painter builds their portfoliio, I've been building mine. Since AutoMOTO Detail was created in 2018, I've been taking photos and films of the work done. Here in around 3 minutes 20 you'll see a snapshot of at least 175 hours and some of the cars worked on. Each vehicle has a story and is memorable for its own reasons. The Corsa that had been bleached in the sun for 16 years. A Ford Kuga detailed just before year end in only 4C. 3 1/2 hours spent trying to remove 44 years of dirt and oil from an MGB engine bay. Tar spotted silver Peugeots, and an hour spent trying to remove baked in brake dust on a Renault Grand Scenics wheels. From small city cars to camper vans, SUV's to people carriers, pampered, daily driver, or being prepared for sale, each got our best efforts and looked much improved afterwards. Result for me, and my customers.
Black cars are always a challenge, and this Porsche Cayenne is a pretty big car so presented a big challenge. I worked on both the interior and the exterior, which was suffering from a pretty heavy coating of winter mud and dirt which took several washes to remove. Overall it took 9 1/2 hours (spread over two days thanks to needing to be home in time for the curfew at 18.00) to elevate the appearance to the beautiful condition shown here, and using my current favoured Si02 Quartz ceramic coating helped with the high level of gloss and reflections, clearly visible in the quality paintwork. This is up there with the best finishes of any vehicles I've worked on, and the owner needless to say was both impressed and very happy, result!!
This was a massive undertaking and took 19 hours to complete. I badly under estimated the time it would take and the difficulties to clean it, not least the 3 1/2 hours it took to clean the roof. The owners generously overpaid against my devis, but it took so long and required so much material and effort that I definitely won't be doing another one, lesson learned!
This Peugeot 207 was Si02 Quartz ceramic coated, although not a full ceramic, it contains some of the chemical elements of ceramic coatings, which are the hardest and currently highest grade of paintwork protection available. This coating provides a high gloss finish, high hydrophobicity (water sheeting), and will give at least 6 months protection against rain, mud, sun, and dirt, with the added benefit of making the vehicle easier to clean.
This short walk around film of this 2013 Mercedes SLK, shows off the high level of finish that an SI02 Quartz coating gives. Using the base chemical components that are contained within much more expensive ceramic coatings, and sharing the same high gloss levels and water shedding capabilities, this coating is not only good looking, but offers a 6+ month lifespan and makes cleaning your car a 10 minute job. The owner was very happy, and I enjoyed working on it, so a good result all round.
This BMW 525d had originally been booked in for detailing back in March, just before the coronavirus lockdown. Some two months later with the lockdown eased and being allowed back to work, we finally got the job done this week. The results you are looking at here are after 9 hours of work, and has now been sold..
Ceramic coatings are currently the most protective coatings you can put on a vehicles paintwork. They are effectively a hard layer of glass which creates a barrier against the weather, make the paintwork scratch resistant, and has great hydrophobicity, which means rain rolls straight off it, and dirt literally hoses off. After discussing with the owner his specific requirements and intended cleaning regime, we settled on a Gyeon coating with two base coats and a top coat, which creates the amazing gloss finish the car now has.
The initial enquiry about detailing this Seat Leon came several months ago as the owner wanted to make arrangements for it to be in its best possible condition for return to the leasing company. When the time came to work on it the temperatures and weather had changed and weren't optimal , but if you check the pictures I think you'll agree the end result wasn't too bad?
This 19 year old Land Rover Discovery had been well looked after, but nonetheless took the best part of 9 hours to complete. These pictures were actually taken two days AFTER the work had been completed, as my iphone battery had died before I'd had a chance to take pictures on the day, so the images here are after it having been driven.
This turned out to be one of my favourite cars to have detailed. Only the second white car I've worked on, it seemed to reveal layer after layer of dirt as I cleaned it before turning it into the stunner it looks here. As a convertible I think it looks great, but it's equally as stylish with the roof up.
This car is owned by a customer whose MGB I worked on last year. There were one or two places where the lacquer had lifted, and on the rear left side where a dent had been filled and repainted where there was a slight colour difference, but overall for a vehicle of this age I think it came out well, and so did the owner!
Vehicle is washed with shampoo via a snow foam cannon. The shampoo sticks to the paint and gravity forces it and dirt from the vehicle. Following this stage the vehicle is treated for tar spot removal before being hand washed with microfibre wash mitts and dried using a high pile specialist drying towel
Engine extensively steam cleaned and dressed to give that showroom effect. Having your engine bay detailed is like putting the cherry on top of a cake, it just finishes the whole vehicle off. The engine bay is often overlooked, but if it's clean it is easier to spot oil leaks or problems, and your garage or CT centre will appreciate working in a clean rather than a dirty engine bay.
